The special National Executive Committee (NEC) of the African National Congress (ANC) has taken an immediate resolution to have all the party structures nullified by court not to participate or vote in the Elective Conference.

The outgoing ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe announced the resolution by the NEC in a media briefing at today.

“All branches that are sighted in the court judgments in KZN, Free State and North West will not vote at the conference. We don’t want anything that will contaminate the outcome of conference.” said Mantashe

“KZN, FS and Bojanala delegates that are here can only be observers and cannot participate”

The ruling ANC is holding its 54th national conference from 15-20 December at Nasrec, Johannesburg, which will see the party electing a new leadership and adopting various policies.

Mantashe also announced that the party will start the congress at 14:00.
