Orlando Pirates caretaker coach Augusto Palacios got a better sent-off when his side managed to secure a draw with Cape Town City away.
It could have been worse with a 2:1 loss, thanks to Riyaad Norodien’s late strike.
Cape Town City game was the last and better game in-charge for Palacios following the 6:0 drubbing by the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns and 2:1 loss to Bidvest Wits.
Orlando Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza is expected to name a new head coach on Monday to take over from caretaker coach Augusto Palacios following Muhsin Ertugral departure last year.
FINAL SCORE: Cape Town City 2-2 Orlando Pirates
Speaking to the reporters in a post-match interview Palacios said he is unsure of his own future with chairman Irvin Khoza set to announce a new head coach on Monday.
“I don’t know nothing, the chairman called us to wish us the best, he was confident of a reaction from the players after the loss against Bidvest Wits, and we had to give a reaction,” he added.
“I don’t know who is coming in, I always say I’ll die for this club, no matter which position I’m in, no matter who is coming, I’ll wear black and white all the time until I die.”
