Bidvest Wits, Cape Town City share dominance #PSLAwards

2016/17 ABSA Premiership Champions Bidvest Wits

The 2016/17 ABSA Premiership Champions Bidvest Wits and the newcomers Cape Town City dominated the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Awards with the students collecting five awards and city snatching five major awards.

The Cape Town City skipper Lebogang Manyama stole the show in the PSL Awards last night pocketing three major awards including PSL Footballer of the Season, Absa Premiership Player’s Player of the Season and the Absa Premiership Top Goalscorer.

Lebogang Manyama was joined by Aubrey Ngoma who took two awards: Telkom Knockout Player of the Tournament and Absa Premiership Midfielder of the Season.

Reigning Absa Premiership champions Bidvest Wits also enjoyed a successful night walking away with four major awards with coach Gavin Hunt walking away with the the much contested Absa Premiership Coach of the Season defeating Pitso Mosimane and Eric Tinkler.

Darren Keet walked away with the Absa Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season, captain Thulani Hlatshwayo took the Absa Premiership Defender of the Season, Phakamani Mahlambi won the Absa Premiership Young Player of the Season and the veteran, Daine Klate was voted as the MTN8 Last Man Standing.

The other winners were Orlando Pirates’ Abbubaker Mobara who won the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament while Lamontville Golden Arrows’ Nduduzo Sibiya took home the Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player.
