South African Communist Party (SACP) general secretary Blade Nzimande retains his position as the leader of the Communist party after being re-elected un-opposed in the party’s national elective conference that is currently taking place in Boksburg.
Blade Nzimande’s task to retain the top SACP position were made easy when Solly Mapaila made announcement that he will not contest for the position of the Secretary General against Nzimande for the interest of the party unity despite the strong lobby in the party pushing for to replace Nzimande.
Nzimande who is currently serving in President Jacob Zuma’s cabinet has served as the party’s general secretary for 19 years.
The re-election of Blade Nzimande for another five year term means he will lead the communist party for twenty-four-years now…
