Congo jail attack: 11 people were killed and 930 prisoners escaped

At least 11 people were killed and about 930 prisoners escaped when unidentified armed men attacked jail in Butembo, Democratic Republic of Congo’s northeastern town of Beni.

According to the Dr Congo media reports the assailants stormed the jail with heavy weapons, killing at-least eight prison guards before entering the prison cell.

No one claimed the responsibility for the attack yet even the local militia groups are quite on the matter.

4,000 inmates escaped the capital Kinshasa’s main high-security prison last month
