The Department of Water and Sanitation has revealed that water levels in various dams across the country are in good shape despite a drop due to dry winter.
Early this year Minister for Water and Sanitation Ms, Nomvula Paula Mokonyane announced that Water restrictions in the country will remain tight after several dams reached full capacity for the first time.
The department says Water restrictions in all provinces remain in place except for Gauteng.
While the Western Cape Province still experiences a drastic drought due to low rainfall. Dam levels have increased, slightly, by an average of around 4% over the past fortnight.
The City of Cape Town maintained that Water restriction in the area is on stand still.
On Monday, the city issued an appeal to industry to assist in coming up with solutions to augment the city’s potable water supply, with dam levels now at 23.1%.
The city says level 4 water restrictions will remain in place indefinitely and could even be intensified over the long term.
