Police arrested 17 year old for killing his girlfriend.

Community members at Motetema in Limpopo are shocked by the death of a 15-year-old girl, who is alleged to have been killed by her boyfriend.

The body of the 15-year-old was found with severe injuries by a passer-by on top of Tafelkop Mountain.

On Wednesday police said, a 17-year-old has been arrested in Limpopo for the brutal murder of his “alleged” 15-year-old girlfriend.

Both teenagers attended school at Buleu High School

Police have yet to complete investigations into the exact reason behind the murder; however preliminary findings show that the 17-year-old suspect was trying to force the girlfriend to abort an unplanned pregnancy.

Provincial Commissioner Lt-General Nneke Ledwaba expressed shocked at the incident‚ especially considering the brutality of the murder and the age of both the victim and the suspect.

Limpopo police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe said investigations were under way.

“As part of the police’s efforts to confront the scourge of crimes against women and children in the province‚ the suspect was nabbed soon after the discovery of the body,” said Ngoepe.
