Members of Cosatu have shown support in seeking safety measures to the private home of SA Communist Party (SACP) deputy general secretary Solly Mapaila.
This comes after Mapaila’s life was in danger following attacks to his home by groups of people who were marching outside.
Mapaila is the greatest critics of Zuma, who has been demanding that he step down as the head of state.
Members of the Umkhonto WeSizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA), are believed to be ones which has protested outside Mapaila’s home in defence of Zuma.
The labour federation has met in Tshwane this week for its four-day central committee meeting to discuss its way forward and find solutions to issues that affect its movement.
Unions have join forces to defend its top coalition and promised to stick together no matter what.
SA Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu) deputy general secretary Nkosana Dolopi said that: “It’s about violence and unacceptable behaviour against some leaders of the alliance structure.”
It seems like the tension between the African National Congress (ANC) and the alliances who wants Zuma out of office would not be an easy task to accomplish.
