Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu’s most talked about move to join the English side Tottenham Hotspur this summer unlikely to happen due to the United Kindom VISA rules and regulations.
Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Bongani Zungu has attracted an interest from the Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurbut, the transfer which will be affected by South Africa (Bafana Bafana) FIFA ranking and the number if caps he had with the national team.
Bongani Zungu (20 Caps) is unlikely to qualify for a work permit to play in England due to South Africa’s current position outside of FIFA’s top 50 ranked sides.
The South Africa international was recently linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday and is said to have been the subject of a £5.3 million (R76.58 million) bid from Tottenham Hotspur. The club have shown interest on the player from 2015 and have reportedly being monitoring him while playing for Vitoria Guimaraes.
Zungu could be granted a move to the Tottenham side via the FA’s Exceptions Panel if and only if the transfer fee and his wages are big enough like the case with Stoke City’s Egyptian winger Ramadan Sobhi in 2016.

Nevertheless, given Tottenham’s superior resources, they are perhaps more likely than Wednesday to be successful in bringing Zungu to English football.
