South African Rapper AkA celebrate Milestone achievement after selling Platinum for “level” record
Almost two years after a local hip hop star Kiernan Forbes, known as AKA, released his levels record, and the album has officially gone platinum.
In the early hours of Thursday morning the Super Mega announce that he celebrate milestone achievement of his second studio album which had received platinum certification after selling over 40 000 copies.
AKA went into Twitter making announcement to the fans saying he is delighted to receive the certificate for the platinum selling album alone without sponsors and brands.
“Thanks to the fans and to all the people involved with the album. Going platinum is a big deal for me‚ especially since it’s my first album to go platinum and the first time an English-speaking hip-hop album has achieved it‚” says the Super Mega.
AKA added the achievement made by the fact that he “did not give the album away or distribute the copies as part of a marketing campaign.”
The rapper says he is not defined by the achievement but he is grateful to receive recognition for his records.
This achievement come few days after the AKA’s latest single, Dream Work, recognized by America rapper Snopp Dogg.
