DA breaks silence into Judge Mabel Jansen ‘racist’ remarks

The official opposition Democratic Alliance have finally broke silence into the racist remarks by Judge Mabel Janson who mixed the black women with rape.

The DA on Monday vowed to refer Gauteng High Court Judge Mabel Jansen’s matter to the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) Judicial Conduct Committee.

DA’s Member of Parliament Glynnis Breytenbach said the JSC will review on the matter on whether an investigation is in order following Jansen’s ‘racist’ remarks.

This comes after the Judge in a Facebook conversation expressed that she believes rape is part of black culture.

“Given the gravity of this complaint; it is important that this committee is apprised of all the facts in this regard and satisfies itself that Judge Jansen indeed acted in contravention of her judicial oath,” said Breytenbach.

Breytenbach also said they have requested that the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) conduct their own investigation into the matter.

“The Judge’s comments that rape is part of black culture is not only hurtful and demeaning, but fundamentally undermines the dignity of our people, and in doing so, violates the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa,” Breytenbach said.

She then reiterated and said racism is not welcomed by the DA and in the constitutional democracy.
